Message from the President

Message

I, on behalf of all Alumni of Baptist High School, Saki, express our profound gratitude to our Diaspora group who deem it fit to create this unique website. It is novel that you focus thus, on projecting our school to the world in good light. Our thanks to you all as we note that you have always been acting in that capacity in various facts of the school life “E see o”.

I am happy belonging to Baptist High School Saki big family. The value that school stands for always stands us out among the community of schools, which is evidenced in the positive ethics that we carry into our places of work, pleasure, worship and so on. I am proud of my school, which can raise up its head high where many others lose theirs. I at the same time value our teachers of old as well as the current ones for their dedication which forms part of the success story of the school products, their remuneration notwithstanding. The need to appreciate our staff was foundational in the appreciation programme organized for them (both teaching and non-teaching), starting in 2018.

The exception to this body is that all Alumni, on a personal, set and group basis, do their utmost to uplift the school, help members and use our stewardship of influence to project the school and assist in her development. It is in the realization of this goal that I seize this opportunity to appreciate all of us involved in marking the glorious success of our 60th Anniversary in 2018. In line with this, I sincerely thank you all for putting the current executive in place in November 2019. Thank you all, I also wish to put on record, the support being given to my vision for the school – the five-year and ten-year development plans. I give kudos to all who have been supporting the first phase, by which we intend to commission the reconstruction of the school fence by February 2023, when the school marks its 65th anniversary. I passionately plead with those yet to key in, to please do what is necessary with passion. Furthermore, I pray we shall not be put to shame on the execution of our projects for the upliftment of our school.

For the second phase, which is expected to be progressively executed until it’s commissioning in 2028 when the school will clock seventy (70), I urge that we start thinking, planning and executing our bits once the fence project is formally executed. This involves; re-roofing our school building with non-rusting aluminium sheets, possibly of the same colour, re-painting of the school building and tiling of floors where feasible. Also, I encourage all that God has granted stewardship of influence, to assist in the tarring of school roads, which is not too long and is being done in other schools. I believe it is doable and pray God helps us so to do. Therefore, if and when the newly inaugurated Development Plan Committee for this purpose, headed by Mr Oluwole Oladotun approaches us, let us respond positively.

I seize this opportunity to appreciate the newly inaugurated Membership Drive Committee that is put in place to bring others on board. They have been wonderful in the execution of their assignment. I say God repays you beyond your imagination.

Summarily, I say on behalf of the Executive Committee, we are elated by this website creation project; we love you all, and we wish our school progressive distinction in all facets. Thank you all.
